Designed to work the long-neglected posterior chain (comprising of all the muscles that you can’t see in the mirror), the GHD bench is a great way to emphasise the leg muscles without putting too much load through the back.

The exercises involved with this machine differ from the more traditional squat or deadlift action as it requires a totally different movement pattern. As the GHD exercises are performed without weight, it is a great option for people who want the benefits of squats or deadlifts, but who are limited by the heavy weight involved.

With approximately 40% of power for sprinting and jumping coming from the glutes, 25% from the hamstrings and 5% from the calves, the GHD bench allows these key muscle groups to be worked at the same time.

Capable of multiple exercises on the one machine, the GHD bench is unique in its ability to isolate the hamstring muscles and train them on both the hip and knee joint, making the benefits applicable for everyday activities as well as sport-specific.
